This recipe makes the most fun cocktails I've ever made. It's a bright pink color and all sorts of tasty. It also is insanely easy to make.
Place some salt or sugar on a small plate. Rub rim of your glass with lime (reserve for serving); dip in salt. Fill with ice and set aside.
Combine tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. If you would like to be even boozier, add 1oz of an orange liqueur like triple sec or contreau. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds.
Strain cocktail through a strainer into your glass. Garnish with a citrus wheel of your choice.
Hibiscus Simple Syrup
Bring the water to a boil with sugar. Stir until the sugar has completed dissolved.
Pour the sugar water into a mason jar and add the hibiscus leaves as well. Put the syrup in the fridge for 20 minutes or so until it completely cools. Remove the hibiscus leaves and the syrup is ready to use!
You can store this syrup in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3-4 weeks.
Hello and welcome!
We've known each other pretty much forever, and this blog is our way of documenting our culinary exploits, and some non-culinary exploits as well. We're not always on the same page, or in the same state, or even on the same continent, but two things are generally true:
At least one of us is not paying attention
At least one of us is wearing her pajamas
